Supporting Centrepoint – Ending Youth Homelessness
Rumble With The Agents is proud to support Centrepoint, the UK’s leading youth homelessness charity, at this year’s 10th Anniversary boxing event. Centrepoint works tirelessly to provide young people facing homelessness with the tools, support, and opportunities they need to turn their lives around.
Giving young people a future beyond homelessness
Each year, Centrepoint supports nearly 14,000 young people across the UK. They remain steadfast in their mission to end youth homelessness by 2037, with their most recent research estimating that 1 in 62 young people faced homelessness in 2023-2024. Many of these young people have endured trauma, family breakdown, or financial hardship – leaving them vulnerable and without a stable place to call home.
As well as safe housing, Centrepoint provide consistent one-to-one support, access to counselling, and education, training, and employment opportunities to young people – empowering them to build brighter, independent futures.
To break the cycle of youth homelessness, Centrepoint runs the Upstream Prevention Programme, an early intervention initiative that identifies and supports young people aged 11-16 who are at hidden risk of homelessness. Through a survey assessing factors like wellbeing, resilience, and housing stability, the programme identifies young people at risk and delivers tailored interventions to prevent them from reaching crisis point by the age of 16. Centrepoint are currently working with schools both in Manchester and in London.
Centrepoint is also bridging the gap for young people moving from supported housing to the private rental sector. Their innovative Independent Living Programme provides young people with an affordable home to call their own, where rent is capped at one-third of their salary. This enables young people to build financial stability and focus on their careers without the risk of homelessness. Reuben House, the programme’s first estate in Peckham, opened in June 2023, and has already made a huge difference by supporting young people to take their first step towards full independence.
How is Rumble With The Agents Supporting Centrepoint?
On the night, we’ll be raising money through an exclusive raffle and auction that will be giving away money-can’t-buy prizes. There will also be pledge cards giving guests an opportunity to make a donation and just giving pages.
The money we raise will transform lives; it could fund safe accommodation, essential mental health support, or career guidance for a young person in need. Every donation brings us closer to a future where no young person has to face homelessness. We invite our guests to dig deep and help support this amazing cause.
With Rumble With The Agent’s support, we are ending youth homelessness for good.
